After the war, the ateliers of Paris were busy-and innovative. Driven by ambitious fashion houses unique to the French, fantasies of the east were once again the rage. Here, the architecture of a Pagoda is revisited with stylized faux bamboo verticals. While etageres bring needed height to a room, the Pagoda brings a sophisticated eclectic style, at home in both traditional and modern settings.
The Pagoda top is painted tin, with a charming Venetian Gold finish. A plumed finial adds whimsy, and four antiqued mirror shelves create a sense of depth and richness. In a neoclassical touch, the feet are delicately splayed. The result is glamorous and functional display-a statement in the Hollywood Regency style.
