MERCURIAL TABLE LAMP

The Mercurial Table Lamp is inspired by the habit of homeowners and shopkeepers of the 1800s to hang a reflective ball to ward off evil spirits. It was the opinion of the day that spirits did not like to see their reflection, and the sphere was used to turn them away from the dwelling. This fetching lamp features a large 13-inch silver mercury glass globe that nests atop a square base covered in ivory leather. It has antique brass hardware and a striated natural shantung silk shade that completes the look of luminous elegance.
