For more than 100 years, the Dutch ruled the pepper and cinnamon-rich Malabar Coast of India. The sculptural base of this table draws on the both the serpentine curves of the colonial baroque and the brazen customs of the subcontinent. The result is relaxed, exotic, and purposeful. Available in two sizes.
The sharp contours of the base command attention-and discourage the use of too many chairs. With a glass top, the Malabar looks beyond the kitchen to a sun room or solarium. In a large foyer, it might be the one perfect Center Table. It would be hard to find a better candidate for the Designer Palette paint program.
