About This Product

With the Beekman, Bill Sofield demonstrates that a design can be substantial, masculine, and still refined. The top uses quarter-cut Mozambique to create a chevron effect - which becomes a diamond when the Table is closed. The darker border is figured Macassar Ebony. The pedestals revisit the Art Deco tulip, with concentric routing for a sense of depth, over a stepped base. Extends to 128" with both leaves. The geometric nature of the Beekman's design tends to unify a dining room. While the Table works easily with a large serving piece, it also allows multiple, more eclectic support items. When not in use, impressive pedestals encourage the owner to consider showing it without the side chairs.

About This Collection

Interior Design magazine described Bill Sofield as “a choreographer of spaces.” Considered one of the most thoughtful design talents of his generation and a true master of Modernism, Sofield believes that design must serve the client’s individual needs and function as beautifully as it looks. Sofield’s design approach introduces creative tension that allows the character of a room to reveal itself over time. And his furniture and product design map out each object’s future, designing it to improve with use and age, as it eventually becomes  a treasured heirloom.
