About This Product

The Kincob Bookshelf is an expressive fusion of natural materials in a highly functional piece. At 84.5" tall, it has presence. A steel frame wrapped in thin rawhide strips gives way to a rattan shape that subtly slants as it rises, splitting to bridge the top of the bookshelf in a simple, modern gesture. Steven Volpe was inspired by ancient sewing techniques for the naming convention of his collection; Kincob refers an Indian brocade usually of gold, silver or both. The name alludes to the design's interplay of materials and techniques, as well as its graphic nature. Wooden shelves are framed in McGuire's signature rattan and is completed with warm, burnished brass feet. Six shelves; fourth one from bottom is removable to accommodate art or electronics. Comes standard in Matte Slate rawhide with Matte Natural Brown shelves and burnished brass feet.

Design legend Steven Volpe has joined forces with McGuire to debut a collection of dynamic and sophisticated pieces that speaks to his background in fashion and his passion for art and architecture. Having grown up in California with ties to the McGuire family, Volpe pays homage to McGuire's heritage by allowing natural materials and textures to speak for themselves; however, his proclivity for technical innovation pushes the limits of natural materials and 21st-century metallurgy. Each piece in this collection demonstrates an evolution of intellectual and classic design, with a modern finish.
